flavorful, fragrant, and easy to prepare.
Ingredients:
3 cups
cooked rice, preferably chilled
1/2
cup frozen peas and carrots
1/2
cup diced onion
2
cloves garlic, minced
1
tablespoon vegetable oil
2
eggs, lightly beaten
1
tablespoon soy sauce
1
teaspoon oyster sauce
Salt
and pepper to taste
Sliced
green onions for garnishing
Instructions:
In a
wok or large frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the
diced onion and minced garlic, and sauté until they are fragrant and the onions
are translucent.
Add
the frozen peas and carrots to the pan and stir-fry for a few minutes until
they are cooked through.
Add
the cooked rice to the pan and stir-fry for a few minutes until the rice is
heated through and the vegetables are evenly distributed.
Push
the rice and vegetables to one side of the pan and pour the beaten eggs into
the empty side. Scramble the eggs until they are cooked through, then mix them
in with the rice and vegetables.
Add
the soy sauce and oyster sauce to the pan and stir-fry for a few minutes until
the rice is evenly coated and the flavors have melded together.
Season
with salt and pepper to taste, and garnish with sliced green onions.
Tips:
For a
more flavorful fried rice, use chilled leftover rice that has been refrigerated
for at least a day. This helps to dry out the rice and prevent it from getting
mushy.
You
can customize this recipe by adding your favorite protein, such as diced
chicken, shrimp, or tofu. Simply add the protein to the pan before adding the
vegetables.
If you
want to make the dish vegetarian or vegan, omit the oyster sauce or use a vegan
oyster sauce substitute.
